I really liked Agent Cody Banks cause it was really fun. It has a kickass skateboard chase scene, nuff said. I even bought the DVD, which I was dissappointed with (not original aspect ratio, so the Divx is better hmmm), though the extras were good. I even knew of the sequel shortly after seeing the first on in the cinema (where I saw it a few times).

The week I bought the DVD of the first one, Agent Cody Banks 2: Destination London opened in the cinema in Perth. It took me a few weeks to actually get there to see it, and when I did I was expecting a treat. Unfortunately I was obviously expecting far too much because, frankly it wasn’t very good. I even knew the IMDB user rating for it wasn’t very good (3 out of 10) so I should have been able to shield my subconciousness from any pain, but alas I failed.

I was really hanging out for a good chase scene, besides the first one set the bar pretty high. There was the Fat Guy on a tiny motor cycle chase scene, but it wasn’t that funny, though the Fat Guy’s character Derek (played by Anthony Anderson) was funny at other times in the movie, his complaining wasn’t always funny.

I can see why Harald Zwart refused to direct this one even though the first one was quite successful. There just isn’t much of a story there. It had the standard Bad guy going to take over the world idea that has been done a few times before.

The comment on IMDB sums it up saying: This film should have been called “Cody Banks Franchise: Destination Oblivion”. And this is someone who thoroughly enjoyed the original film. But everything that that film got right, this one manages to get wrong. My sentiments exactly. All things considered, it just wasn’t very good.

Film: Rapid Exchange

Rapid Exchange is another movie that seems like several others mixed. This one reminds me of Oceans 11 and several scenes from Cliffhanger, even the music sounds like Oceans 11. Basically it consists of several bad guys robbing a 747 loaded with 250 million US dollars. Of course they manage to get someone onboard to assist with getting the rest of their crew on and then robbing it.

Unfortunately for them, double cross followed by double cross leads a few of the bad guys to their death.

All things considered I’ve seen it before, though only a bit in each movie it reminded me of. This isn’t really worth watching unless you are really bored or have time to burn, and even then there are better films to watch out there. Oh and the ending wasn’t really good, unlike Oceans 11. My recommendation would be to watch Oceans 11 again.

Film: Haggard, The Movie

Another item from Bam Margera, and this one is actually trying to be a story, although based on real events it plays as a loosely constructed story. Keeping that in mind, Haggard, The Movie is actually quite good. It gives the viewer an insite into the real lives of the people behind the shows (Jackass, CKY, Viva la Bam and others), and you get some brief shots of the gear they use to make it happen.

I thought the editing that went into this shows real talent, something I wish I had with editing. They also show skill in the production of the movie and the way the story developed. Even the ending, though I picked it before it happened, I was thinking there is only one way to end it, and it happend. The ending was great.

I really liked it, but it’s not the sort of movie I’d be watching heaps.
