First off, Melbourne man patents the wheel. It had to be done, eventually I guess.

Last post was 9 days ago. My bad. Been busy. Quake 3 tournament manager went pear shaped big time. VB really blows chunks. You can run multiple instances of the program, but the winsock control only supports the first one that runs. WTF. I had better get delphi from somewhere. Also, the osp custom configs went tits up big time too. I proved that if I go without a maccas breakfast I have a good weekend. =) Pity they won't serve burgers before 10am, damn commie bastards. I ended up doing about 40 hours straight, and that finished up with trying my best to run a 50 person quake 3 tournament and then bolting out the door at round 2 of the 3rd attempt. All to get home before midnight.

66gig isn't too bad for leeching though, it could have been much more if other still undiagnosed factors didn't prevent me from making full use of the 2 60 gig IBM deskstar drives. I fineally have space to do more dvd rips.

I have the channel 7 divx rip of the Uwalan coverage. Pity I dont get Access 31 cause their special is going to be something like 30 mins long.

Bubblegum Crisis Tokyo 2040 episode 8 captured fine (again with my dad's computer, this time I had left Friday night and it worked fine capturing saturday night).

Reinstalling windows 2000 boosted my 3dmark2001 score by 300 points. Maybe I should have auctioned off an image of my windows rot on ebay. I've got some screenshots to post when I have time to upload them all.

I've got so much to do, but I don't want to do any of it.

This is National Non-Dairy Creamer Week.

Quake 3 dedicated server being controlled by an autonomous web server. Or maybe not, but it's still under the control of the web server. Yes, I've got that far, and with under a week to go, it's going to be tight to say the least.

I'm now running Q3 1.29f (beta) and so far so good. I also upgraded my nvidia drivers from 6.49 to 12.41 (yes I know that sounds bad, but they skipped a lot of numbers in between). Adding to this I found a ogg vorbis acm driver (ogg vorbis audio in avi files) and my codec's started playing up. Now Dune 3 doesn't run, I can't adjust the gamma in Q3 and DivX stuff doesn't play smooth in full freaking screen. I'm mighty pissed. No printer subsystem yet, it went south for the winter a while back. Maybe I should ghost the partition off and auction it on EBay as a rare form of windows rot. I'm begining to think people are right when they say I'm cursed.

Bubblegum Crisis Tokyo 2040 episode 7 captured fine (this time with my dad's computer, in preparation for the next 2 weekends (UWALAN, SWGN)).

While on the subject of networking. In Windows 2000 (pro) removing this registry key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\RemoteComputer\NameSpace{D6277990-4C6A-11CF-8D87-00AA0060F5BF} sped up my ability to browse the network by about a gazillion times. Gnutella on a lan is harder than we thought. Tokens - The lion sleeps Tonight.mp3 isn't dead yet.

As for large scale leeching. I'm about to try eDonkey. Gnutella seems to bite large winkie for it. Limewire biting the largest of the lot, closely followed by BearShare.

Later...

eDonkey Get it, it's good, no it's better than good, it's freaking great. Talk about liquid farscape episodes and so on. There's just so much stuff out there, and it's all on eDonkey. It's small too, 575kb windows client, 54kb windows dedicated server.

As for the new poll. I'm making the right decision in getting some new hard drives. Thanks goes out to the caring souls who read my site and vote in the poll. Thanks also to Garbs for not vote stuffing it. Hello disk space will be me later this week I hope.
